Visitor information

I asked Dawn if she was ready to have visitors and she said "that's fine", but she would like visitors to call the hospital first so she can let them know if she wants visitors that particular day. Just like all of us, Dawn has good days and bad ones. Also, don't take it personally if she says she doesn't want visitors on a particular day. There are many factors that affect her daily decisions- pain level, mood, previous night of sleep, etc. Visitors from friends and family definitely lift her spirits and it brings her a lot of joy! The number for the hospital is (773) 702-1000. She is in D-204.

Dawn had a better day yesterday. She seems to be getting her appetite back more and more. She ate a half a bowl of noodles and a mozzarella stick for dinner which was the most I've seen her eat in weeks! She seemed peaceful yesterday and her pain seemed to have lessened. One of the better days in the last week!

Dawn,
You do not know me personally. I know your cousin Mark from work. I just heard your story and wanted to cry. You're an inspiration to us all. I will try my best to help with what I can, and tell all the people that I know to see what they can do. Hope you get stronger everyday. Don't worry you're not alone. :) Smile everyday!!! Good Luck. Much Love!

Hi Dawn-
I dont know if you remember me, but this is Leanne Cantin, your roommate from your freshman year of college at the Univ. of Iowa. Lately, I have been in the habit of googling names from my past, especially those from the U of I. Sadly, I came upon a website detailing your circumstances. Just letting you know you are in my heart and I wish you strength, courage and comfort in the days ahead!
