I have a correction to the last update. Dawn has been breathing on her own since 9am but she still has the breathing tube. They have shut the respirator off, but the tube is still in place. She will be having surgery tomorrow so that they may continue working on her legs and one arm. They are trying to salvage as much tissue as possible so she may have more surgeries yet. It is a very complex and detailed procedure. Although she was sedated today, she was somewhat responsive to voices and seems to be fighting the sedation a bit. She is ready to be up and we are ready to see her beautiful blue eyes on a regular basis! Tomorrow they plan on removing the breathing tube and replacing it with a tracheal tube so that her mouth may be free to speak to all of us!

Thank you for creating this beautiful website! All of us at Children's miss Dawn so much. This is a nice way to see her pictures and get updates as well. We can't begin to know how tough this is on you. Please know that all of us at CMH will do all that we can to support you and Dawn during her recovery, and don't hesitate to ask if you need anything. Much love, Kirsten - 6 West
