Dawn's Recovery: The Beginning
On Saturday February 23rd, Dawn went to Northwestern Hospital in Chicago to get a Malaria test done because she had been experiencing fatigue, fever and headaches a few days after returning from Africa (Ghana). The test result came back positive and they admitted her immediately. She left a message on my machine claiming "I got the malaria!" in her Chicago accent and that she would be in the hospital until Monday. Unfortunately on Sunday her condition took a turn for the worse and she was taken to the intensive care unit. It has become a nightmare in the past few days. This is a record of the events that took place. I am recording this information so that you may all be up to date on the daily happenings of her recovery and progress. Dawn's friends and family realize how much she is loved and that people need a way to check on her progress so this blog was set up with that in mind.
